Hawkeye Almost Got A Casual Costume In The Avengers, And Its Wild

Superhero costumes go through a lot of design changes before the final version is found, though often, the screen ready costume is only a slight variation on whatever the original idea is. However, when it came to creating Hawkeye's look in the original Avengers movie, it seems that some concept artists tried some unique ideas. Artist Charlie Wen recently dropped this look that showed a version of Hawkeye that put him in less of a uniform and more of a patchwork of items that he found around the house. Check it out below.

Charlie Wen calls the outfit Urban Hawkeye, and it's a name that certainly fits. It's a lot of grey and simple gloves and pants that don't look like they were custom made for him by whoever handles the wardrobe at S.H.I.E.L.D. It looks exactly as described, the sort of thing somebody might put together to make a costume out of things they had on hand. It feels like the all-black that Daredevil wears in the first season of the Netflix series or like Peter Parker's first Spider-Man costume.

The thing that makes this costume the most interesting is what it would have said about the character of Hawkeye that could have been potentially different than the version we got in the Avengers. While it's never specifically stated where Hawkeye's costume comes from one just sort of assumes it was S.H.I.E.L.D. issued. He's a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent when we first meet him in Thor and whether they provide the uniform or he has it made, the formalness of it shows his connection to the organization. If S.H.I.E.L.D. is just cool with Hawkeye pulling whatever out of his closet, it potentially means the man and the organization could have had a somewhat different relationship.

Charlie Wen says in one of the comments on his Instagram post that this sort of designing is done before the story or script is completed, meaning that a wide variety of concepts can get covered to serve as points of conversation. Ultimately, Wen had no idea what would be happening with Hawkeye in the movie. If Clint Barton had found himself working more on his own this outfit could have worked nicely.

Of course, working on his own is exactly how we might find Hawkeye the next time we see him. Hawkeye was MIA from Avengers: Infinity War but we have every reason to believe that he'll be back in Avengers 4. He's no longer part of S.H.I.E.L.D. and half the world has blinked out of existence. While leaked set photos have indicated that Hawkeye's new duds probably didn't just come out of his closet, we are likely to see a very different sort of character when the new film hits next year.

Before Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher married, they spent eight seasons working together as Jackie and Kelso on That '70s Show. But don't plan on seeing an on-screen comeback for the couple in the future, because Kunis thinks acting with her husband now would be too strange. During her press tour for The Spy Who Dumped Me, when the possibility of being in a movie with Kutcher came up, her decision was a hard pass. Since the stars know each other so well, Kunis thinks she wouldn't be able to play off his acting. As she tells it,

Not going to happen. I can't look at him and not be like 'What are you doing?'...no it's weird.

In her comments from Today, Mila Kunis explained that has she once made a face while doing a scene with her husband, because they could see right through each other's performances. This broke the illusion needed when acting.

After working together on That 70s Show, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have only shared some screen time in 2014 when Kunis guest starred on Two in a Half Men, and when they both briefly appeared in Annie. The couple has kept their successful careers separate throughout their marriage, even though they met each other while working on That '70s Show.

A romance between the couple didn't blossom while they were on set together. Ashton Kutcher was Mila Kunis' awkward first kiss ever happened during a scene, and there was a large age gap when That '70s Show began. After the long running comedy ended, Kutcher married and divorced Demi Moore, while Kunis dated Macaulay Culkin for 10 years. Funny enough, they starred in oddly similar 2011 rom-coms, Friends With Benefits and No Strings Attached. Even more ironically, when they started dating in 2012, their relationship status was once along those unattached lines. The duo married in 2015 and now have two children: their daughter Wyatt and son Dimitri.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis have both taken on a variety of roles since their humble beginnings as 70s teenagers, but have primarily established themselves as comedic actors. Kunis has starred in a string of female driven comedies recently, with the highly-successful Bad Moms franchise and the upcoming movie The Spy Who Dumped Me. Kutcher has also stayed close to his sitcom roots with Two and a Half Men and The Ranch. While we would love to see the pair reunite again for a movie, Kunis' response is refreshingly honest. It's understandable that she might laugh at the sight of seeing him work, even after all those years of sharing the small screen. It's also sweet to know that the two actors grew up together and somehow found their way back to one another long after That '70s Show concluded.




Mila Kunis isn't too keen on acting with Ashton Kutcher again. After all, things have really changed since their That '70s Show days. "Probably not going to happen," Kunis said on Sunday Today with Willie Geist.

The following contains some mild spoilers for the upcoming release, The Predator. So stop reading now if you want to go into the new movie totally unscathed.

Shane Black's The Predator bursts into theaters starting on Thursday night, and with it comes a fresh take on the Predator mythology, with not one but two different Predator creatures arriving on our planet with deadly missions. There are plenty of new characters ready to stand in the Predator's way, but one supporting cast member saw their scenes hit the cutting room floor before the final edit reached theaters. So, when we did interviews with The Predator cast in Toronto, we asked them who Edward James Olmos was supposed to play in the movie, and co-star Trevante Rhodes told us:

He played, almost, Traeger's boss, in a sense. But it just didn't, I guess it didn't fit with the thing that we went with, so...

Short. Sweet. But it gives some deeper context into the role that Shane Black saw for Edward James Olmos. "Traeger" is the character played by Sterling K. Brown in the new movie. And yes, his introduction into the film is -- mysterious. He's certainly aware of the fact that the Predators have been visiting this planet since 1987. And Traeger recruits Olivia Munn's scientist character, Casey Bracket, into his quest to hunt down the Predator. But who he works for is... vague. And when he's at odds with Boyd Holbrook's hero, Quinn McKenna, we're not 100% sure why, when they both have a similar goal of stopping the ultimate killing machine, at whatever cost.

Perhaps there were scenes with Edward James Olmos that would have given more backstory into the purpose of Traeger's character. But for reasons only Shane Black knows, The Predator dropped all mention of Olmos, and the Mayans M.C. and Miami Vice star found himself out of the film.

And though we don't have Edward James Olmos bringing the intensity and heat to The Predator, the cast certainly isn't lacking for attitude and talent. Boyd Holbrook leads a band of crazies into battle against the Predator, including Thomas Jane, Keegan-Michael Key, Trevante Rhodes, Alfie Allen and Augusto Aguilera. Olivia Munn tags along, and they all fight to protect Jacob Tremblay, who might hold the key to stopping any future Predator attacks.
