We Finally Know More About The Solo: A Star Wars Story Villain

A brand-new trailer for Ron Howard's Solo: A Star Wars Story dropped last night and provided us with some more awesome footage from the upcoming Star Wars spinoff movie. However, we still don't know much about the core story of the project, aside from the fact that it will blend the western and crime genres into the galaxy far, far away. That said, new details seem to have emerged about the badass new Solo villain, Enfys Nest, and it looks like the armor-clad villain will actually be a woman. Future of the Force writer Thomas Stora took this new information revealed on a piece of French merchandise to social media and wrote:

So, while we still don't know much about Enfys Nest, this seems to suggest that the character will actually take the form of a female villain. Having said that, it doesn't provide us with too much information about who she is, what her motivations are, or how Han Solo will cross paths with her during his journey. As we already noted, Solo: A Star Wars Story will come chock full of gangster characters like Paul Bettany's Dryden Vos and Woody Harrelson's Tobias Beckett, but it looks like she may actually run her own gang of bandits known as the Cloud-Riders.

If this is true, and Enfys Nest actually is a woman, then her presence in Solo: A Star Wars Story will stand out because she will be one of the few female bad guys to ever appear in a live-action Star Wars property. In fact, to date, the most prominent female villain arguably is Gwendoline Christie's Captain Phasma from The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.

Though the information in this tweet is worth taking with a grain of salt until we get official confirmation on the matter, it's also worth noting that other sources have suggested that Enfys Nest is a woman, as well. Specifically, Star Wars News Net recently came out with its own report stating that Nest will be a female in the movie, and while her role in the Solo: A Star Wars Story narrative won't be substantial (comparisons have been made to Jabba's palace sequence from Return of the Jedi), it will be important. Moreover, the actress portraying Enfys Nest (rumors suggest it's Lily Newmark, but they remain unconfirmed) has also reportedly signed on for two more movies, which hints that the character could play a major role in the future of the Star Wars franchise as it moves forward and fleshes out its timeline.

Enfys Nest will enter the Star Wars franchise next month when Solo: A Star Wars Story premieres in theaters on May 25. Of course, after Han Solo gets to take center stage in his own spinoff film, we will once again watch the Star Wars franchise move forward into the future when J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode IX premieres in theaters on December 20, 2019.

Which Avenger Mark Ruffalo Wants To Do A Marvel Movie With

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a big place, with a mysterious future totally unknown to fans. The entire shared universe as we know it will come to a head with Avengers 4, resolving the horrifying cliffhanger that ended Infinity War. Aside from Spider-Man: Far From Home, the MCU's plans after Phase Three are a mystery. And while this may be the source of anxiety for the fandom, it also opens up the future to vast possibilities. Just about anyone could get their own movie, maybe even Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner/Hulk. After teaming up with the God of Thunder in Thor: Ragnarok, he's got another Avenger he'd like to appear with: Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow. As he tells it,

Well, of course, there's always the Banner-Black Widow combo, which I think is always a good combination.

The man has a point. While only a tertiary plot line in the first two Avengers movies, the MCU set up an early romance for Natasha Romanoff and Bruce Banner during Phases One and Two. But when The Hulk took a Quinjet and departed the planet at the end of Age of Ultron, that plot line was all but abandoned.

It's been interesting to see if/how Black Widow and Bruce Banner's romantic plot line is addressed in Avengers 4. It was seemingly mocked during the events of Thor: Ragnarok, and it seems like she and Cap may have their own connection from their years in hiding. But if the still developing Black Widow movie is looking to give her a partner in crime, Bruce Banner would definitely be an interesting choice.

In his same appearance on the podcast The Marvelist, Mark Ruffalo also addressed the Disney/Fox merger, which could potentially bring characters from the X-Men franchise into the Marvel Cinematic Universe proper. In that case, Ruffalo (like everyone else) would love nothing more than a movie with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine-- granted the actor comes out of retirement from the character.

It'd be cool to see --- I mean, people talk a lot about Wolverine and Hulk hooking up, I think that would be a really great combo.

Once again, a solid point. Wolverine and The Hulk have both teamed up and clashed throughout the years in Marvel comics, and fans are eager to see them finally meet in live-action. But studios' legal rights to the characters have prevented them from meeting, with 20th Century Fox maintaining control over the X-Men for the past decade and change. And with the Deadpool franchise also breaking records, the time has never been more exciting to potentially merge the franchises into one giant cinematic universe.

Henry Cavill Says His Mom Would Have Freaked Out If She Watched Him Filming This Mission: Impossible Scene

Tom Cruise gets a lot of credit for the physical stunts that have become the signature of the Mission: Impossible franchise. But along the way, co-stars have had to try and match Cruise's daredevil attitude and go-for-broke approach to death-defying stunt work, whether it was Simon Pegg in a car chase or Rebecca Ferguson conquering her vertigo to jump from the top of the Vienna Opera House. In Mission: Impossible -- Fallout, Henry Cavill is the rugged co-star who has to match Tom Cruise almost every step of the way, but during an interview with CinemeBlend in Paris, Cavill told us the stunt that he's glad his mum didn't watch him film. He elaborated:

Definitely, the helicopter sequence. That's one of those things where, as much as I'm a passenger on that, it was an incredibly dangerous sequence that I'm relying upon my pilot -- who is an exceptional pilot -- and Tom -- who is also an exceptional pilot -- to not kill themselves, or each other, and therefore me in the process. And... it was a journey. [chuckles] But that's one of those things where you think, 'If my mother was here, she would be having very stern words with people.'

The Mission: Impossible movies have made it a practice over the years or working to top the last entry. So if Tom Cruise's unstoppable agent, Ethan Hunt, hangs off the side of an airplane in one movie, then you can bet he'll be piloting a helicopter in a terrifying chase around mountains in the next movie. As you can see from the trailers for Fallout, Henry Cavill is going step for step with Cruise in this movie, participating in the bare-knuckle bathroom brawl, jumping out of airplanes for the HALO jump sequence, and riding in helicopters as Ethan fights to save the day.

But as I mentioned to Henry Cavill in the interview, this is exactly why you sign up for a Mission movie, to which he quickly replied:

When you finish a sequence like that, and it goes so well, everyone is so proud and so happy. And to be a part of something like that was a privilege.
